The Library's online reference collections can provide you with background information or definitions related to many topics, words, or ideas. The best resources to use are Gale Virtual Reference Library (Gale) or Credo Reference. Both databases make dictionaries, encyclopedias, and other types of Reference materials available on and off campus. It is unlikely you will find background information or definitions in a journal article database.
